About the court

Public telephones are situated on footpath adjacent to court building.

Shops, food and drink: there are takeaway food shops and restaurants five to 10 minutes walk away. The court building has snack and drink vending machines.

Department of Community Services Offices: Shellharbour, Wollongong, Corrimal. Emergency Care and Protection applications may also be accepted by Nowra CSC.

Legal representation: for criminal matters, two Legal Aid solicitors are rostered, as well as a solicitor from the Aboriginal Legal Service.

Court support: Children's Court Assistance Scheme (Monday), Anglican Church.

Police stations: Albion Park, Corrimal, Dapto, Kiama, Port Kembla, Warilla and Wollongong.

Public transport

The train is easily accessible. The courthouse is situated approximately 300 metres from the Port Kembla railway station.

Bus travel is not advisable, as buses passing through Port Kembla shopping centre run only once every one to two hours.

The nearest bus stop is 20-30 minute walk away, at Warrawong Shopping Centre.
